Shannon Murphy, M.A., is a highly sought-after organizational consultant, trainer, and keynote speaker. She applies neuroscience to help individuals be more inclusive, culturally agile and more effective leaders. She brings a wealth of experience in global diversity and inclusion, intercultural management, and leadership development. Shannon co-authored the book Neuroscience of Inclusion: New Skills for New Times, the BrainStates Awareness Profile™, and a recent journal article published in the Diversity Business Review Inaugural Journal “Inclusion and the Brain: Building Trust Across Differences.”
Shannon has over 15 years of experience working with organizations and leaders to create inclusive, high performing work environments and improve global performance. She has successfully created and implemented large-scale diversity and inclusion training initiatives (20,000+ employees) with clients such as Boston Scientific, CHRISTUS Health System, Barr Engineering, Aetna, Cargill, First Midwest Bank, Agribank, Dexcom, Mayo Clinic, Johnson & Johnson, Deloitte, Deluxe, Intel, Medtronic, and others, so she knows how to execute results.
She achieved Advanced Certification as a NeuroBusiness Coach at Harvard (2012) with Dr. Srini Pillay (Harvard Medical School). Shannon is on the faculty of the Intercultural Communication Institute in Portland, OR, teaching neuroscience of inclusion. She served as an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas, Opus College of Business Executive Education.
Formerly a Vice President for ProGroup (now part of Korn Ferry), a leader in providing diversity programs globally, Shannon designed multi-year strategic diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and launched and managed affiliates across three continents. With profit & loss and sales responsibility for 48% of the firm’s revenues, Shannon knows exactly what she is talking about when she speaks to leaders. Shannon has a M.A. in Intercultural Communication, with an emphasis on leadership training and organizational development from American University, School of International Service, in Washington D.C.. She is certified in the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), Traditional Chinese Medicine and Quantum Healing. Her infectious style and warm candor have made her a favorite keynote speaker, presenter and trainer.
MARY E. CASEY, M.A.
Mary is a diversity, equity and inclusion consultant with over 25 years experience working with Fortune 100 companies across the USA and Europe. She is Co-Founder of BrainSkills@Work - a consultancy specializing in neuroscience-based training tools and strategies for advancing personal and professional effectiveness.
Mary holds a Master’s Degree in Training and Organization Development from the University of Minnesota. In 2012, she achieved advanced certification as a neuro-business coach with Dr. Srini Pillay Harvard Professor and CEO of NeuroBusiness Group. She is co-author of the 2016 book, Neuroscience of Inclusion: New Skills for New Times.
Mary’s professional qualifications also include certification in the following assessments: the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the DISC Personality Profile, Targeted Selection, and HeartMath Coherence Tools. Mary is also a practicing yoga instructor and cares deeply about personal wellness and cultivating the body, mind, spirit connection.
TONY ORANGE m.S.
Tony is a master facilitator with over 25 years of experience supporting private and public organizations with dynamic and engaging customized training programs, curriculum design, program design, management and consulting. He has successfully facilitated hundreds of trainings throughout the United States, Europe and Canada. During his many years as Vice President in a national management consulting firm specializing in diversity and inclusion. Tony is also known for his exceptional ability to work one on one with senior executives helping them increase their personal ability to be inclusive. Tony holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Ohio, and is certified in many training tools and assessments.
LILLIAN A. TSAI
Lillian specializes in the facilitation, training, design and implementation of diversity and inclusion strategies and programs, cross-cultural competency, and intercultural communications. Born and raised in Malaysian Borneo, Lillian also specializes in coaching minorities and managers of minorities. With global business expertise, Lillian brings 25 years of experience in global high tech marketing and communications, including an expatriate Global Director of Corporate Marketing assignment in Stuttgart, Germany. She has worked with multiple industries, including aerospace, academia, food service, healthcare, semiconductor, law enforcement, government/public agencies, not-for-profits, transportation, and consumer products.
TATYANA FERTELMEYSTER
Originally from Russia, Tatyana is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in intercultural communication, diversity and inclusion with a special emphasis assisting clients in building competence to navigate the complex intercultural, interpersonal, and intrapersonal processes. As a licensed clinical counselor, her professional experience includes providing resettlement services to refugees and counseling to individuals and families going through cultural transitions. Tatyana is the co-author of Cultural Detective: Russia, and she is also a Master Trainer of Facilitators for the Cultural Detective® model. Tatyana received an M.A. in Journalism from Moscow State University (Moscow, Russia) and an MA in Guidance and Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University (Chicago, IL)
JANICE DOWNING
Janice Downing has 29 years of experience as a broad human resources professional with a specialty in diversity and inclusion training and consulting. As a certified Professional in Human Systems Dynamics (PHSD), Affirmative Action Planning, and Business Process Improvements. Janice is skilled at using assessments to identify the root cause of a problem, and uses innovative strategies to determine what needs to be done from the people management perspective such as organization-wide team development initiatives. Janice's down-to-earth style and straightforward manner make it easy for her to adapt to multiple situations and styles. As a former, Director of Staffing of EEO/AA, Janice brings a wealth of knowledge and experience helping organizations integrate regulartory reguirements with diversity and inclusion strategy and training objectives.
Marcia Warren
Marcia is a trainer, somatic therapist, and writer who brings together over thirty years of cross-cultural experience developed in the fields of international education, minority business development, Native American federal policy and legislative initiatives, non-profit organization management, and most recently, culturally responsive and trauma-informed counseling and training.
Lisa Tabor
Lisa Tabor is passionate about systematizing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). She wants to see a world where ALL organizations deliver quality service and great results to all stakeholders all the time, regardless of race, ethnicity or culture - a world where a philosophy of mutual benefit and success is part of every organization's DNA.
She taps this passion to help big and small government, nonprofit and business organizations execute behaviors that effectively meet the needs of culturally diverse customers, employees, suppliers and communities. For more than 15 years, her company has consulted on a variety of cultural diversity, inclusion and racial equity projects related to key functions in governance, strategy, finance, marketing, research & development, information technology, customer service, human resources, community engagement, procurement, space design, and operations. As creators of the Diamond Inclusiveness Assessment™, a unique 360-degree assessment that analyzes an organization’s cultural diversity. equity, and inclusion strengths and weaknesses, she helps find hidden blind spots that hinder brilliant progress while providing systematic, concrete entry points for making measurable improvements.
Lisa started CultureBrokers Foundation, where she created Saint Paul's African American Heritage Corridor and catalyzed the city's ethnic destination development movement. She helped lead the World Cultural Heritage District program which launched Little Mekong, Little Africa, and the Rondo Business and Cultural Heritage District. Her work quickly evolved to developing the Intercultural City Initiative (ICI), an adaptation of the global Council of Europe program.
MICHAEL CARTER
Michael brings a depth of over 30 years DEI expertise in consulting, training and coaching. He teaches that once we shift our mindsets to a more interculturally competent orientation, we allow diversity, equity, and inclusion to flourish within our organization. His is a strong collaborator with organizations in their diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism journey.
Michael spent 25 years at the 3M Company. While at 3M, he headed the 3M Industrial Sector’s most significant initiative to increase its intercultural competence through educational workshops. Michael has also served on many corporate diversity steering committees, task forces, and employee affinity groups. In April 2016, he received the President’s Circle Award for contributions to the 3M Company’s African American Network. Over the years, Michael has developed many training tools and exercises that help workshop participants understand and become comfortable with the concepts of intercultural competence, equity, and inclusion.
